I started cooking when I was six. I loved it so much that I became a chef. After twenty years working in restaurants I quit the business to get a real job. I became a stay at home dad, and from reading my children stories I found that I liked to write them too, but I missed the business. Then it struck me to put stories and recipes together. Everyone has a story of their grand mothers cooking, right? So why not tall tales? I wrote one story after another, and before I knew it, I had THIS book, “Tales from the Cook”
Tales from the Cook are tall tales; a twist on the foodways sub-genera of folklore. Foodways are stories of the cultural, and social practices relating to the consumption of food. Tales from the Cook are fantastical tales of how people are transformed by food and how food is in turn transformed by people.
