Cookery Rhymes: A Difficult Rhyme

What is the rhyme for porringer?
The king he had a daughter fair,
And gave the Prince of Orange her.

Orange, Maple, Porridge

1/2 cup rolled porridge oats
1 cup milk of your choice/water
1 orange
2 tsp maple syrup
1/2 tsp cinnamon
tiny pinch salt

1. Peel orange and cut segments into chunks
2. Bring liquid to the boil in a saucepan
3. Add oats and reduce heat to medium
4. Stir 2/3 – 3/4 of the orange pieces into the porridget
5. Once the mixture has thickened add add the cinnamon, maple syrup, the salt and mix well
6. Once the consistency is as you desire, transfer the porridge to a bowl. Top with the rest of the orange pieces, and another drizzle of maple syrup if you wish!
